Altera Enigma, the progressive experimental metal project of Jeff (Kekeal, Ex-Armageddon Holocaust and Area 58) and Jason De Ron (Ex-Paramaecium, Soundscape), have written and recorded a great deal of the material for their debut album. Jeff in Indonesia is preparing to do vocals and his guitar parts, and Jason in Australia is recording the final parts on his new material and writing the last track needed.
The material is varied, which is fitting for an experimental album, and covers a wide range of styles. Both Jason and Jeff have focused on experimenting and being creative. They have come up with a unique and eclectic sound ranging from heavy progressive metal to techno and trance, with a few surprises thrown in.
Former Kekal guitarist Leo will be contributing to the Altera Enigma album. Leo is a great player who is able to play a wide variety of styles, and Jason and Leo have enjoyed playing everything from jazz to death metal together. Plans are still in the early stage and details are still to be finalised, but he will be recording with Jason in Melbourne soon. |
